Overview
When the research team at ClearSkinReviews.com first reviewed TriClear, we were impressed by how comprehensive this acne treatment system seemed to be. More importantly, the three formulas in the TriClear strategy not only cleared up the skin, but did so without irritating the skin or drying it out. Even better, the ClearSkinReviews.com team - after further investigation - found that TriClear also contains exclusive ingredients that help prevent future breakouts from occurring.

We think that one of the main reasons for TriClear’s impressive track record against acne can be directly traced to its exclusive combination of an advanced deep-penetrating delivery system along with soothing and powerful cleansing nutrients that go deep to rid your skin of acne. Although some people may get similar results by purchasing three or four separate acne treatments, it seems a much better idea simply to get the TriClear system and therefore have everything you need to treat and prevent acne - all at once.

Featured Ingredients
The TriClear system actually consists of three different formulas - Clarifying Cleanser, Repairing Gel and Revitalizing Cream - which work synergistically to cleanse the skin, remove acne and other impurities from the skin and help control the main causes of acne for lasting prevention. Each of these formulas contains its own unique blend of natural skin treatments and soothers, but we found that the following ingredients truly make TriClear the most effective acne treatment system that we have reviewed:

Salicylic Acid. This remarkable ingredient has replaced Benzoyl Peroxide as the leading strategy for clearing acne. Salicylic Acid not only removes the impurities in skin that lead to breakouts, but it also helps keep pores clear and encourages skin cell turnover. Skin cell turnover is essential to making sure that the body gets rid of old, dead and dry skin cells (which can clog pores) and replaces them with young and healthy cells.

Silicol Dioxide. This ingredient complex has become the top choice for Europeans looking to rid their face of acne, since it makes a more effective and safer alternative than Benzoyl Peroxide. When applied topically, Silicol Dioxide forms a light gel layer, which quickly dries and absorbs oil from the skin. When the gel is rinsed off, this process removes excess oil and other impurities that are responsible for acne.
It also helps control oil production in the skin, which helps prevent breakouts.

Inflacin. This patented ingredient has been developed as a safe method of calming irritation and redness, which not only occur due to acne but can also result from Benzoyl Peroxide or other harsh acne-treating ingredients. Inflacin has been found to soothe the skin, reduce redness and help keep the skin smooth and clean, which goes a long way towards making skin look refreshed, clear and protected against future breakouts.

QuSomes. Most acne treatments use the same technology to deliver their ingredients into the skin. Unfortunately, most of these delivery systems only penetrate the upper layers of skin. TriClear is the only acne treatment formula to use QuSomes™, which are microscopic spheres that contain the formula’s acne-fighting ingredients. QuSomes penetrate more deeply than other delivery systems, making sure that TriClear clears acne not only on the surface, but also deep within skin.

Web Site at a Glance
The TriClear web site is very clear, concise yet detailed in its presentation. Rather than distracting the visitor with a lot of “bells and whistles” that other cosmetic companies tend to use, TriClear is simple to navigate and gather the necessary information needed. Descriptions of each of the three formulas in the system, including an explanation of QuSomes technology, are very easy to understand. There are plenty of customer testimonials on the site, which shows just how successful this system has been for those who use it. Best of all, TriClear offers an exclusive risk-free trial of its anti-acne system, which we find very helpful. Customer can try the entire system - not just a small sample size of the products - free for two entire weeks before deciding to pay full price. And if our field tests of the product are accurate, even the most severe acne will clear up within two weeks after using TriClear.

Pros
- TriClear penetrates the skin deep to ensure that ingredients don’t just treat the surface of skin
- Salicylic Acid is far superior to other clearing compounds, including Benzoyl Peroxide
- Silicol Dioxide is one of the best ways to control oil production in skin and help prevent breakouts
- The formula does not irritate or dry out the skin
- TriClear offers a risk-free trial of its products
- Plenty of customer testimonials on the web site

Cons
- As far as we can tell, TriClear is not yet available in stores. Perhaps this is because the company wants to ensure an affordable price for the product, as well as ensure quality and freshness. Right now, the only way to get TriClear is through its web site: www.triclear.com

Summary
Considering that you can try TriClear for free, you really have nothing to lose by at least giving this system a shot. TriClear contains a sensible and scientifically researched combination of the best ingredients for treating and preventing acne. The ClearSkinReviews.com team continues to be impressed by this company’s dedication to giving customers a superior chance at getting rid of acne. In addition, we have always found their customer service personnel to be courteous and well-informed.

Overview
Clarifying Cleanser is the first step in the highly recommended TriClear acne system. Even though you can find the full review of the entire TriClear system here, the ClearSkinReviews.com team has also decided to review each of the three formulas in the system separately, so that customers have a more detailed picture of how these products work.

Featured Ingredients
Sodium and Potassium Cleansers. Unfortunately, many acne formulas use harsh chemical compounds - most of which are synthetic - to clear pores and remove impurities from the skin. While these chemicals can be effective, they often irritate the skin and may lead to damage that is even worse than the acne itself. That’s why it’s refreshing to know that TriClear’s Clarifying Cleanser takes a different approach. This formula utilizes mineral-based cleansers, which are derived from Sodium, Potassium and other well-established compounds. These ingredients help clear skin but carry a much lower risk of irritation. In addition, one of these nutrients - called Sodium Hyaluronate - even hydrates the skin by capturing moisture for an added smoothness.

Chamomile Extract. Not only do many acne cleansers use harsh ingredients that can irritate the skin, but too many of them also lack any nutrients to help calm the irritation of acne (or side effects of the cleansers themselves). TriClear’s Clarifying Cleanser contains Chamomile Extract, since this botanical is highly prized for its ability to soothe the skin and keep it even-toned, even after cleansing.

Web Site at a Glance
Clarifying Cleanser does not have its own web site, since this product is only available through TriClear. Therefore, in order to get a full review of the TriClear web site, check out our entry on TriClear, which can be found here.

Pros
- Gentle yet effective cleansers won’t irritate skin
- Botanical soothers like Chamomile help calm skin
- Includes Sodium Hyaluronate, which hydrates and keeps skin soft

Cons
- Not available for individual retail sale. The only way to purchase this formula is by directly obtaining it from www.TriClear.com.

Summary
Considering the many cleansers on the market today, it can be hard to find one especially formulated for acne - and sensitive skin - in mind. But Clarifying Cleanser makes an essential first step in the acne-clearing process, thanks to its powerful yet gentle combination of cleansing compounds and botanical soothers. In our view, this product is an impressive way to begin any acne treatment program.

Overview
The second step in the three-part TriClear system involves use of the company’s exclusive Repairing Gel. Even though ClearSkinReviews.com has conducted a full review of the TriClear system (which you can read here), we felt it was important to also conduct an in-depth analysis of each of the three products in the system, since many readers have been asking questions about this top system.

Featured Ingredients
After washing the face with TriClear’s Clarifying Cleanser, the Repairing Gel is applied to the face. A few minutes are allowed to pass, during which the formula forms a light, silky white layer on the skin. This layer includes the remarkable ingredient Silicol Dioxide. As it dries, Silicol Dioxide literally absorbs oil and other impurities from the skin without irritation. When the gel is rinsed off, the skin is cleared of the many causes of acne. The gel rinses off easy and leaves skin feeling smooth and clear. Silicol Dioxide also helps control oil production in the skin, which helps prevent breakouts.

Repairing Gel also includes Inflacin, which is a patented ingredient invented by BioZone Labs as a way to calm the irritation and swelling that occurs as a result of acne - or the methods used to treat it. Inflacin directly acts on the enzymes that can cause irritation to occur, inhibiting their activity by as much as 93%. This results in skin that remains calm and even-toned throughout the acne-treatment process.

Web Site at a Glance
Repairing Gel does not have its own web site, since this product is only available through TriClear. Therefore, in order to get a full review of the TriClear web site, check out our full review of TriClear, which can be found at www.TriClear.com.

Pros
- Silicol Dioxide removes oil and other impurities from skin
- Inflacin calms irritation and soothes redness during cleansing
- Also helps control oil production in the skin, which helps prevent acne

Cons
- Not available for individual retail sale. Only available from www.TriClear.com.

Summary
TriClear’s Repairing Gel is an impressive second step in this acne treatment system. After cleansing with the Clarifying Cleanser, the Repairing Gel continues the acne removal process in a way that is gentle on the skin, yet effective. While other products employ the use of heavy masques or harsh chemicals, TriClear’s Repairing Gel only requires a minimal wait time for the gel to form, after which it is rinsed off to reveal clearer skin. This formula only makes our initial positive reaction to TriClear even stronger.

Overview
Revitalizing Cream is produced by TriClear and makes up the third step in this company’s highly rated acne treatment system. Since TriClear has become one of the most searched products on this web site - and continues to rate as one of the best acne systems available - the research team at ClearSkinReviews.com has decided to dedicate a separate review for Revitalizing Cream, so that customers can understand more of the science behind this specific formula’s effects. For a review of the full system, go to www.TriClear.com.

Featured Ingredients
Salicylic Acid. This ingredient is related to aspirin, and as such produces many of the same astringent and analgesic effects. Both aspirin and Salicylic Acid were first discovered by treating the bark of the White willow tree and using the resultant mixture as a healing balm. Thus, Salicylic Acid has an origin that is much more natural than competitive (and less effective) compounds such as Benzoyl Peroxide. Salicylic Acid has been found to be one of the most effective treatments for acne, since it clears clogging particles out of the pores and eliminate many of the blemishes caused by an acne infection. It also encourages the natural skin cell replacement process, whereby old and dead skin is removed to make way for fresh and young skin cells, which are fresh and devoid of acne. Most over-the-counter products with Salicylic Acid contains between 0.5% and 2.0% solution. TriClear’s Revitalizing Cream contains the maximum strength 2.0%, making us confident that it will treat even the most stubborn forms of acne.

QuSomes™. Even though QuSomes are not considered an anti-acne ingredient, the inclusion of this compound in TriClear’s Revitalizing Cream is a main reason why this formula has become one of the most powerful on the market. QuSomes are microscopic spheres that encapsulate the formula’s active ingredients and deliver them deep into the inner most layers of skin. Once QuSomes have penetrated into skin, they open up and release their ingredients for optimum effectiveness. Compared to conventional delivery systems found in most acne creams and lotions, QuSomes are 150% more penetrating.

Web Site at a Glance
Revitalizing Cream does not have its own web site, since this product is only available through TriClear as part of the company’s remarkable triple-dimension acne system. For a full review of the TriClear web site, check out our listing for TriClear, which can be found at www.TriClear.com.

Pros
- Salicylic Acid (2.0%) is one of the most powerful acne treating ingredients available
- QuSomes ensure that the formula penetrates deeper than conventional creams and lotions
- No harsh chemicals or irritants

Cons
- Not available for individual retail sale. However, it is easy to purchase the TriClear system directly at www.TriClear.com.

Summary
TriClear’s Revitalizing Cream makes a perfect third step in the TriClear acne system. This formula helps finish the job that the Clarifying Cleanser and Repairing Gel put in motion, ensuring that pores remain clear and that the main causes of acne are treated. The inclusion of QuSomes further impresses us, since this shows that the company has put research and time into ensuring that its formula goes deeper than just the skin’s surface and promotes lasting acne prevention.

Overview
SkinCeuticals has gradually gained a solid reputation in many health and beauty spas because it offers simple formulas that can promote better and healthier skin. Many of the formulas in this line contain only one or two main ingredients, which definitely can make it easier for many consumers. SkinCeuticals currently offers a Blemish Control formula, along with several types of cleansers that can help to treat and prevent acne. While we would prefer if SkinCeuticals also offered a specific acne system consisting of one or two of these formulas - preferably as a free trial or at a discount price - we decided to review the active ingredients as accurately as possible.

Featured Ingredients
The main ingredient that SkinCeuticals products feature to treat acne is Salicylic Acid, which is an impressive first step. This ingredient has gained a solid reputation as an acne treatment compound, since it not only reduces the size and number of pimples but also helps prevent breakouts by encouraging the skin’s natural renewal process. We are a bit troubled, however, that SkinCeuticals only offers a 1% concentration of Salicylic Acid, since studies show that a concentration of 2.0% is optimum.

While Salicylic Acid will perform many functions for the skin in the treatment and prevention of acne, we were a bit disappointed that SkinCeuticals did not offer products that also addressed other key areas of acne. None of the products contain Silicol Dioxide, which helps to control oil - one of the main reasons for the appearance of acne. In addition, SkinCeuticals does not contain Inflacin, one of the best ingredients for calming irritation and renewing skin. Finally, the Salicylic Acid in SkinCeuticals would be even more effective if it were combined with the unique QuSomes delivery system, which ensures that this powerful acne fighting ingredient penetrates into the deep layers of skin.

Web Site at a Glance
Like its products, the SkinCeuticals web site is clean, easy to understand and easy to navigate. There are brief descriptions of products and some other helpful features on the web site. Unfortunately, the web site is short on some of the important clinical research that we like to see, as well as helpful tips or information and graphics about how acne begins. In addition, SkinCeuticals does not offer a free trial of its products.

Pros
- Some products contain Salicylic Acid

- Simple, easy to follow web site and product information

Cons
- Does not contain Silicol Dioxide or Inflacin

- Salicylic Acid is only offered at a weaker 1% concentration

- No free trial offer

Summary
SkinCeuticals definitely offers some wonderful products, including various serums that can help prevent aging in the skin. It may, however, fall a bit short in the acne category. These products may be too mild for most people with acne, and it seems as if SkinCeuticals simply hasn’t gotten around to creating a full acne treatment system yet. Hopefully this impressive company takes the time and effort to do so one day.

Overview
This formula seems to claim that one product can do all that is necessary to clear and prevent acne. No company information is available at the time of this review, so most of the research that the staff at ClearSkinReviews.com was able to conduct took place by reviewing material on their web site and by analyzing the finished product.

Featured Ingredients
Oxycerin seems to work mainly through the action of its main ingredient, 5% tea tree oil. While Tea Tree Oil does seem to have some natural astringent and anti-acne functions, we have yet to read convincing research that puts it on par with other established acne medications such as Salicylic Acid, Silicol Dioxide and similar compounds. According to the officials who produce Oxycerin, a study in Australia found that 5% Tea Tree Oil produced similar results to 5% Benzoyl Peroxide, with far fewer side effects. While we tend to prefer other treatments to Benzoyl Peroxide - due to the fact that up to 79% of people will experience dry skin or flaky skin after using a product containing Benzoyl Peroxide - most products contain 10% Benzoyl Peroxide, not 5%. So the claim that Tea Tree Oil performs as well as 5% Benzoyl Peroxide does not seem like much of an accomplishment.

Oxycerin contains other ingredients, such as Aloe Vera, which is a known skin healer, as well as White Willow Bark, from which the powerful anti-acne ingredient salicylic Acid is derived. Even considering this fact, no studies have determined that White Willow Bark can have as powerful an effect on acne as the more concentrated Salicylic Acid. Other ingredients, such as Licorice Root (for inflammation) and Hyaluronic Acid (a moisturizer) seem to be added to help assist the action of Tea Tree Oil.

Web Site at a Glance
The Oxycerin web site contains very little information except for its detailed description of the product and an explanation of the 5% Tea Tree Oil study conducted in Australia. Pricing information is available, and one bottle of Oxycerin sells for $69, which seems an awfully high price for a product with natural ingredients, and one that does not contain Silicol Dioxide, Inflacin or an advanced QuSomes delivery system. Three customer testimonials are featured on the site, but only a first name is given and no photos are posted, making us suspect their validity.

Summary
While Oxycerin seems to make claims that this product will perform similar to established acne medications on the market, surpassing a weak 5% Benzoyl Peroxide effect seems average, at best. The other ingredients truly do not add anything else to this formula, which falls short on many parameters. We recommend that you look elsewhere.
